Since the 49th International Paris Air Show Le Bourget – the world’s largest air show – in June 2011, Bombardier has been touring the international air shows including in Dubai, Bahrain and Singapour to present the new C-Series aircraft.
Mosaic Design and Bombardier Aerospace wanted to give Bombardier pavilion visitors a rich, memorable multimedia experience that would showcase the new CSeries aircraft. Moment Factory’s mandate was to design and produce multimedia projections of key messages on the fuselage of the new CSeries cabin demonstrator.
On entering the Bombardier pavilion, visitors were immersed in a sound-and-light environment designed to draw their attention to a pair of screening surfaces: the fuselage of the demonstrator and a semi-circular screen. Projected onto the fuselage was a 3D mapping simulation of the CSeries assembly process, complete with sound effects. The dynamic animations were followed by scenes of natural landscapes as seen from the air, which unfurled on the fuselage and created a relaxed, airy
atmosphere in the pavilion.
Moment Factory’s mandate also included the production of 13 information clips highlighting the new features of the CS100 and CS300 aircraft. The clips were projected on both screening surfaces. The entire experience (content, lighting and sound effects) was controlled by an interactive interface running on an iPad. Six projectors displayed the content on the screen and fuselage, the latter surface being long, curved and broken by six windows and two doors.
