At the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival of April 2011, a massive crowd of 100, 000 people experienced a moment of euphoria. An hour into Arcade Fire's set, as they play their hit Wake Up, 1,250 giant beach balls cascaded from the roof of the stage, like a waterfall. In synchronization with the music, these luminous orbs modulated in color, forming various patterns and flashing dynamics – the crowd was ecstatic. The audience is conquered: they know they’re at the right place at the right time to experience an unforgettable and playful moment.

Moment Factory was mandated by Radical Media to collaborate on "Summer Into Dust", a Creators Project production, directed by Chris Milk. The objective was to orchestrate a memorable and grandiose finale to the Arcade Fire show. Onsite, Moment Factory produced, managed and artistically executed the launching of the beach balls. With the assistance of a technology created by ESKI Studio, each beach ball became an independent pixel programmed at a distance to trigger each effect.
