PROJECTS

Where: Shanghai, China
For: Cirque du Soleil
Entering the Pavilion, you embark upon a virtual journey. A massive pool, alive with moving images, beckons. Swirl the water's surface, the video images liquify. With your touch, flowers appear and buildings move. Mounting Velocity's stationary bikes, you speed through the Canadian landscape, sound and vision accelerating with you. Slowing down, the celluloid images fade to black and white.
Moment Factory was invited by Cirque du Soleil to collaborate on the technical and creative aspects of Velocity and AquaMagika, create interactive special effects and synchronize sound for all installations in the Pavilion.
AquaMagika runs on proprietary technology developed by Moment Factory. Sensors located underneath the interactive video pool's watery surface, allow multiple visitors to simultaneously play with the images. For Velocity, each bike is a video controller, with each biker's pedal speed defining the audiovisual effect they experience.
